Great place with live music. 3 stars for food- it was good, but kinda pricey for the serving sizes. 5 stars for the beer, but 3 for the selections. They had standard stuff, although house made and good, but a kinda small variety and nothing out of the ordinary. I had the cream stout and the ipa. Preferred the stout, but I am a dark beer girl. 5 stars for the service. We had several guys checking on us, but not annoyingly up our asses. They were all lovely and

Stopped in here after a looooong bike ride that had generated a tremendous thirst (the brewery is right along the bike path that parallels the Rail Runner tracks) and quickly decided I need to come more often. The bar is shaped in a near semicircle, which gives it a refined look that I haven't found at other New Mexico breweries yet. There was art, mostly landscape photos well-placed on two sides of the bar which further added some class to the place. Not that these things are particularly (if at all) what I measure breweries by, but they add a distinguishing touch. My father and I were able to find seats at the bar on a Sunday afternoon with ease and were pleased to find both golf and baseball on the flat screens (although the Euro Cup should have trumped both). We tried about six beers before arriving at our decisions and the bartender was patient and courteous with each request. My father ordered the Chinook Pale Ale and found it to be very good. I agreed, which is especially important to note, as I continue to tell people how tired I am of the proliferation of IPAs and Pale Ales. My thinking is, a good IPA or pale ale is wonderful, but with so many lame attempts making their way on to the market, it is causing some fatigue on dedicated beer drinkers like myself. I, as I usually do, looked for something other than a pale ale, and found a great choice in Rod's Best Bitter. Normally, bitter is not something I like in a beer, but this was only slightly living up to its name, and in fact was more a good amber ale with slight hints of citrus. It was a treat, so much so that I had to order two, despite having more bike ride ahead of me. There were a few other beers I would have liked to try, including the Golden Ale which was on special all day on the Sunday I was there ( I guess everyday is a different special), but I'm pretty confident that they'll be good too. As for the price, our beers were $4 or $4.50 a pint, which is reasonable in my book. Growlers, unfortunately, are a bit more expensive here than at their competitor, Marble Brewery, located downtown. Here, they'll cost you $10.25, whereas $8.50 will get you the same 64 ounces at Marble. Still, I almost think I like this place better than Marble, so I may just shell out the extra buck seventy five.

Everything was great..Even if you don't drink alcohol. Best beer battered onion rings I've ever had! Across the street from a great pizza place too...Backroad Pizza

We've been waiting for 1.5 hours for our food. I've decided to take this down time to express my my approval of this place. Straight garbage. The beer is good but don't go there if you have a doctors appointment within the next 3 hours.

After a long afternoon of shopping the Farmer's Market & Flea, we were so happy to sit down to some good local brown ale. Nestled right up to the tracks and the main market areas, I'm surprised this place isn't off the hook all the time. The staff were hipster, super nice and very knowledgeable. They offered free samples before we chose our beer. The glasses were filled TO THE BRIM with the head scraped off for us. Food was very good, but a little pricy. Beware - the hot wings are HOT LIKE THE SUN. Delicious on a bitter cold day. Would definitely go back. Just wish they were a little closer to the foot traffic of town.

Awesome patio and great beer! I had a house salad, it was fresh and tasty. The kolsch is what we drank, it's a deliciously refreshing "gluten-removed" beer, for those who are gluten intolerant.

Best brewery in town! Actually I think it's the only one really in town... Great beer and good food at fair prices. One review said something about a bad reuben and the one I had the other day was the best I've had in years! No exaggeration. Definitely a place locals go!

Place exceeded my expectations. I had sautéed salmon on special and it was incredible. Beer was great, atmosphere was also very cool. I'm coming back!

Food and service was actually pretty good. A lot of places we go usually suck, but they did great and we didn't like tye the chipolte ceasar and they took it back and exchanged it. We sat on the patio, and def enjoyed sitting in the nice weather. Were from MN abd are on our way to AZ to move and stopped here. Great place to stop.

Went to the Second Street Brewery on 2nd street this last weekend with my better half (attempted to go to the one at the Railyard but electricity was out due to a storm). It was about 8pm and the place was packed. Walked in and they had two girls from CO. singing live and it sounded great. We waited near the bar and had a few pints of cream stout (sweet and full body throughout) until our table was ready. Waitstaff was consistent, food was good and atmosphere was friendly. Would suggest it for anyone looking for good beer and decent food. Nice place with outdoor seating.

Really bad everything from the beer to the food. Soggy sandwich and everything tasted like a barnyard... Maybe the health inspector should check this place out.

This is a really cool place located near downtown Santa Fe (I stopped in before my drive west). We dropped in to try a few of their brews. The cream stout was solid, but I really enjoyed the Festivus Ale. Definitely coming back here.

This place is a miserable excuse for any sort of establishment. That being said here is the play by play of my awful experience. My wife and I each ordered a beer ,hers a porter which was ok I ordered an IPA, AWEFUL!!! And I love beer. After two sips were gone from that terrible IPA it sat at the edge of my table for the rest of the stay. The food oh my, the food.. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich (pretty standard for a brew pub) wow I squeezed this sopping wet poor excuse for a sandwich and much to my dismay water poured onto my plate which I soaked up with my napkin unfortunately the water did not come from the coleslaw which consisted of a couple of bits of cabbage drowned in mayonnaise (not wet) even my sweet potato fries were bad. The portobello wrap was too smokey "like eating the ass end of a campfire" quote from my wife. Only good note was the server, he was attentive but was completely avoiding us because everything sucked and he knew it, poor guy. I would advise you grab a pizza to go and drive to the Santa Fe brew company if you want a good beer.

Great location right at the Railyard, went here after a busy morning's shopping at the Farmer's Market. Service was slow but functional, we didn't really get the sense they pride themselves on their service here. Basically, come here for the location and beer, but not much else. We got a run of 5 of their beers at the sample size, which was a nice option. The Rail Runner pale ale is worth trying. There isn't much on the menu food-wise that isn't generic, get-it-anywhere-in-the-country, except for the buffalo patty melt, which at least has green chile mustard and "local" buffalo meat. It was fine, but nothing special, just like this place.

Good food, however TERRIBLE service. Server had a bad attitude the moment we sat down. Instead of explaining that their policy is not to provide separate checks for large parties, we were told, " I will do it if I'm not too busy." One entree was undercooked and when returned, the server told us that the person returning it, " had a bad attitude." We accidentally left a credit card at the table once we paid for the bill & when calling to inquire about picking it up, we were told, "I don't know what to tell you. You should not have lost your credit card" before promptly hanging up on us.

What a surpise find in Santa Fe. Good local brews and the food was quite tasty. Live music was a great added touch. Friendly staff and great happy hour pint prices. Definite stop when we are in Santa Fe!

This is my absolute favorite place in Santa Fe, lovingly nicknamed "Second Home." They have a huge rotating menu of beers that are always fresh and delicious. Chef Jason does a great job with all the food. The fish and chips is the best I've had here, the burgers are great, and cask and curry nights are really fun and different. The staff is really nice and knowledgeable about their beers. They have great music on the weekends and when the patio is open in the summer, it's a great place to hang out.

Beer was really good -get a sampler. Potato skins were awesome. Stay away from the Reuben-did not seem fresh. Onion rings were really good and the wings looked like they would be good. Service spotty.

We were blown away by the food about two weeks ago so we went back and were really happy again. Jason really knows what he's doing in the kitchen. My husband was thrilled with his burger and he likes it super rare. I had a chipotle Caesar that was both strikingly beautiful and delicious with anchovies and really good cheese. Both of us loved the sweet potato coconut soup. On our earlier visit it was late afternoon and we shared a sort of appetizer/sampler plate that had New Mexican lamb sausage patties (small) and NM cheeses with two delicious, delicate chutneys, small salad with a great orange dressing. Really wonderful flavors. We're taking a break on alcohol so root beer, on, and cranberry juice worked great. Worth going for the food!

We went here for the second time last night for beer and burgers. This place reminds me of the Southern Sun on Pearl St in Boulder, full of and hippies in dreds drinking beer and dancing along with the music. They had a free band, it was a nice local scene. We ate: -onion rings- the usual, nothing spectacular but not bad either - big fat meaty burger- with chilis- hubby said was great and definitely looked generous - Veggie burger- very good, came with spicy fries We also had: -1 glass Mead- eh, it was ok, not the best mead I've had- made to the style - Three beers- all were very good, I love how they explain the hop profile in the menu 'cause I love Cascade Hops and am always on the lookout for them - Hubby says his two beers were complex and good Service was great considering they only had two tables open when we got there (6:45) - we had three waitresses covering us and all were nice and prompt. Best part: Total was $55 including a 20% tip Gotta love the breweries

The smothered enchiladas are good. The outdoor patio is good, even when its cold, the heaters are good. The service was outstanding and on point. As a recovered alcoholic I give thanks for having two non-alcoholic beers and root and ginger beer to choose from.

If you have read any of my reviews, you know I'm a fan of drinking. We came here after visiting the Santa Fe Brewery and they wouldn't sell me a growler until after 1. So Hanah suggested this place, stated it was better atmosphere, which I'm always down for. I was able to sample some beers and man were they good. I sampled the cream stout, it's a little much for me, but was really good. The Pecos Porter was like a meal, more then I can handle. I stayed with the Rail Runner Pale Ale (even shipped a growler back to So Cal). We started off with the baked Brie with Roasted Garlic, holly hot hell, amazing, but then again I love cheese. We drank some more, waited for my brother and some of his co workers. The arrived for more drinking, I ordered the enchiladas, Christmas style and i have to say, it was awesome. either that or the beer was too awesome, that the food just seemed awesome. Either way, when I go back and visit the fam bam, I will return to this place. Great food, great beer and a great atmosphere.

After a long hiatus since the last time I was here, I was looking forwards to enjoying a crisp light beer on a hot sunny day. Alas, all they were offering when I was there was an IPA, a few different stouts and another heavier offering. I was hoping that since it was a brewery there would have been many more choices.

Second Street Brewery is a mixed bag. I went there recently to see a band and to sample some of the food and beer, to mixed results. First off, it took a little while to be recognized in order to get any service. After about 15 minutes, I was finally waited on and my waiter was very good for the rest of the evening. Unfortunately, on this particular night, Second Street were out of BOTH their IPA and ESB, the two beers that I was there for. That is both wrong and disappointing. Instead, I had the Simcoe Pale Ale, which I thought was really good, so that was a plus. Usually, as this was my first time eating there, I like to see how a Brewpub does with food via a staple like a burger, nachos, wings, or maybe a house specialty. This time I ordered a burger. My order was burger: medium with cheddar. The burger was perfectly cooked. The bun, however was pretty stale and the fries were cold. I'm not one to generally return something to the kitchen regardless of these factors, but I was really tempted to do so in this case, at the very least to get hot fries. In any event, if you go to Second Street, don't expect a miracle from their food. You are probably better off eating somewhere else and just stopping in for a few beers. Maybe on the next visit, they will have IPA and ESB available then.

I've been twice with my wife, both in spring 2011. First time was pleasant enough. A decent band was playing, place was packed but service was still good. Food (fish po' boy and salmon tostada) was generous and fresh - pretty solid for pub food. I tried a few beers, most were too hoppy for my taste, but the Kolsch is great. 2nd visit: sat outside with nicer weather. Patio was pretty dirty, with some dirty people. Service still good, but po' boy was much smaller and missing the aioli/tartar sauce, fries greasy, ceasar salad swimming in dressing. My wife got awful food poisoning, me not as bad. Sad to say, but we won't be back despite its charms. It's just not worth the risk. (a slight update: looking back, I think 1 star was a bit too harsh given the good experience the first visit, so I've upped it to two stars)

We went up to Santa Fe last week to meet the in-laws for lunch and took a chance on the 2nd Street Brewery. Mostly what I know of Santa Fe is Canyon Road, the Plaza and the Railyard, so it was interesting to end up on the weird little industrial stretch where the brewery is located. Parking is tight in that area - tiny parking lot, but you can park along a ditch-like thingie down the road apiece. The interior of the place is sort funky with reddish walls - fairly pleasant. Has a pretty good vibe and I was optimistic until I enthusiastically ordered the Cream Stout, only to be told "We're out of Cream Stout". Not to be discouraged, I slightly less enthusiastically ordered the "something something" Red, (sorry, I honestly can't remember the name) only to be told "We're out of the something something Red". Sigh. Tired of guessing what might be on the menu, finally I said, "What DO you have?" (See there? I'm a quick learner) and ended up getting the Golden Ale which happily, was quite good. My husband and the in-laws ordered the Beer Steamed Mussels, the Cheese Enchiladas and the Second Street Burger and I ordered the Cobb Salad (making sure to have two alternates ready to go in case the food menu was as gap-toothed as the beer menu). The food made up for a disappointing start - all of it was good. The salad was very generous and fresh, the burger was sizable and (I heard) was quite tasty. The enchiladas were a new experience for the in-laws, coming Christmas-style (with red and green chile) and the mussels were interesting, tasting somewhat like curry. Things stayed on the upswing until my husband asked the waitress for a glass of mead, whereupon she said, "I think we're out of mead. I'll check" and then never came back. We flagged her down and she looked confused but did maintain her faculties long enough to say "We're out of mead." Sigh again. So - 2nd Street Brewery - your food was good, your beer was good, and you might even have garnered four stars if you weren't out of every other thing on the menu.

I have been a patron of 2nd Street Brewery for years. The food is adequate, the beer is decent, the parking is hideous. For me, it is a place to hear music, not a gastronomic destination. The other night was a disaster. I went to hear a local band play, but all the tables on the patio where the band was playing were reserved (and mostly empty). I asked the hostess to have the next available table on the patio, but she seated someone else there who arrived well after our party of three did and did not have a reservation. When we reminded the hostess that we had asked to sit on the patio, she said there wouldn't be a seat out there until the music had stopped. "It's a very popular band and we are very busy." It took me at least 15 minutes for my drink order to be taken. The wait staff had their blinders squarely in place. I asked someone who was tending to a neighboring table if she could take my order and she said, "oh, no that's Ernie's table." I waited a little longer and then asked the hostess where my server was. She said, I don't know, but I'll find out." Pretty soon the elusive Ernie materialized and got me a drink. My friends arrived and the wait for drinks was repeated. At some point, we ordered food. My friend's order was screwed up and we waited some more for that to be corrected. After three or four inquiries, she got her order. One of the reasons one goes out to dine with friends is to actually eat at the same time. But, you know, "the band is very popular and we're very busy." A waitperson spilled beer on my friend's bag. No apology was offered. When we wanted another round of drinks and Ernie was yet again nowhere to be found, one of our party went to the bar to order. The bartender first ignored him, then snottily told him that we already had a waitperson, so sit down." When our waitperson did show up, he told us "you didn't help by trying to order at the bar. In fact you probably made things worse." Huh? Our evening at 2nd Street Brewery was a perfect storm of attitude, incompetence, and disinterest on the part of the people who work there. I know "the band is popular and we're very busy." But isn't that the purpose of running a food and beverage business with an entertainment venue? I reported our miserable experience to the hostess and said I was not going to be returning. I doubt if the Brewery is too disappointed over the loss of my patronage. People will still go there in spite of the "I'm too cool to work in a restaurant" demeanor of the staff. And after all, the band was popular and they were very busy.

Visited on Saturday night and sat outside at the rail yard location. Loved sitting outside, despite the odd concert going on. The 4 stars on this post is for the service! I knocked over our table of drinks right when we got them, and they were so kind and forgiving! the chile cheese fries with pork belly were so great, wish had gotten with just red chile because the green blew my palate. Husband had a specialty burger on the specials menu- he loved it! I had the pork shanks, which I didn't like that much but the mac and cheese was great with green chile. We had the brownie dessert and it was so worth it- yummy and warm and creamy- so good! The beers were great!

In our travels we like to seek out and try local craft breweries, and when they are incorporated with a restaurant it's always a bonus! This was on our Yelp list to try so we arrived for dinner mid evening. There were a couple of open spots at the bar so we chose to eat there and people watch. We started out with a couple of IPA's and an order of their chili fries, green chili for us. What arrived was a pile of fresh home cut french fries that were covered in shredded cheese and green chili sauce. Flavorful but screamingly hot and that's pepper hot not fryer hot. We had ordered the cheeseburger with green chili as well, and found that they were wonderful although hot from the green chili. All of the veggies were fresh and crisp; the beef patty was thick and juicy. The burger itself was big enough that we cut them in half just to be able to get a hold of them. The people watch was great and the bartender like all great bartenders was entertaining. Go; enjoy the brew that they craft and the food that they put as much attention in as their beer. You'll love it!

Great local brewery. All the beers are tasty. The food is really good. A must try is the alien burger. Fried onions, a Chile relleno, queso, guacamole, smoked bacon and green chilies on an Angus steak Patty. Good size bar. Plenty of seating inside and out. Only drawback is the parking. Great bike parking close by but way more tables than parking spaces so load everyone together. Guaranteed hit.

Amazing beer, and even better food! The fish and chips are a must order - which we tried and shared. The pork shank dish is outstanding, the homemade chips are great, and the pulled pork sandwich, is off the chain. The most amazing and silly point about this place -is the food is served smokin' hot (stove hot) and stays that way, and the beer is super cold. Cold . Don't miss this place. Live music, but not obnoxious. We could still visit AND watch the basketball game. Clean. Great environment. Super friendly service. I would love to return to this place when the weather is warmer because the patio looks great. I was surprised that the parking was easy, but deciding what to eat was difficult! If you like low key, not quite dive-bar, awesome food local spots, this is it, it, it!

Fun place in walking distance from our place. Great beer selection and awesome menu. I've never had a bad meal at second street. Also, the patio is awesome when the weather is nice.

Great spot on the outside patio. Try the ESB (extra special bitter). Smooth and crisp. Have a salad with the chipotle ranch caesar dressing. Just enough kick to remind you that you're in New Mexico. The fsh and chips always good here but for a slightly healthier fish Friday go for the trout. And the chef cooks up mussel specials that take you back to Belgium moule fritte with a great pint. Can't get much better than that.

I'm giving this a 3.5 based on my last visit and only on food. I would give it a four stars for beer and previous experiences. I brought my husband and parents here for a casual lunch. My dad is really hard to take out to lunch because he is a very basic meat and potatoes guy. So I figured this would fit the bill. They have a variety of sandwiches, salads, and other entrees. I ordered the smoked portobello wrap with sweet potatoe fries which actually was pretty tasty. They were a bit skimpy on the feta cheese and the wrap itself was dripping with grease. They must have doused the portobello in oil. It did affect the flavor of the mushrooms and I for one do not enjoy super greasy food. I had to dab the wrap with napkins to absorb the excess grease. My dad and husband's selections were much better. They both enjoyed their meals and my dad even said he would like to come back. He is a super picky eater. So for next time I know not to get the wrap. Also The green chile is also muy picante. Careful with that if you are not a spicy food eater. I have enjoyed their green chile stew before but I didn't see it on the menu this last time.

When green chiles meet a juicy bacon burger, an overwhelming sensation of deliciousness becomes a Santa Fe MUST HAVE!!! The Norteno Burger is an ABSOLUTE MUST at Second Street Brewery. Top that off with a nice Belgium Stout for the perfect meal when in Santa Fe area.

Great relaxing atmosphere and a very nice patio. It gets busy on Fri and Sat nights with no tables available at times. I like the idea of live music inside the bar, but it makes it too loud for my preference. I enjoy the beer, although they are often out of certain kinds. Also, I wish that they just charged deposit on the growler bottles rather than having to purchase them, as I would definitely get them more frequently during times when I forget to bring mine from home.

If you're familiar with and love Marble's Hieronymous, you'll love the Agua Fria Apricot at 2nd street. Not much apricot flavor, but I could drink this like juice. Good thing it's only 3.4%. The Tres Equis is very similar to Dos Equis but with a deeper, richer flavor. The burgers are unreal. Delicious, drippy, cheesy. You can build your own or order one of their specialties. The green chile is some of the best I've ever had. There are other items on the menu like fish, salads, and sandwiches. Super friendly, attentive, and quick staff. Easygoing atmosphere. High 5, Second Street! High stinkin' 5!

Rice and beans were basic, portobello taco was ok. Kind of dry. Saving factor was their fries!!! So good and tasty! Though their portion size was just right.

Delicious New Mexican food! I came here a few weeks back while in search of good food and good beer. There was live music and a packed bar area when we got here, but fortunately plenty of tables. The music was actually pretty loud (even for someone that blasts music in their car) and we were forced to find a table somewhat far away. For the most part the restaurant is one large open area which could be great for groups if you move tables around. The beer menu actually looked quite small for a brewery. Roughly 10 beers available. I went with the only porter they had available and loved it. Had that thick, rich, coffee/cocoa-like flavor I was yearning for. To eat I ordered the Chimichanga, which I absolutely loved! The red chile was delicious, and not too spicy. I would definitely order this again, though it might have been a special and not on the regular menu. I loved the food, service/staff was about average, music was really loud, and I would have liked to see more options on the beer menu. For instance, I love stouts and porters and only had one option. Would come here again for sure.

If you're looking for a big, juicy hamburger and an almost endless selection of craft beers, this tucked-away cafe is the place to go. Although they don't have a plain green chili cheeseburger on their menu, I opted for their 'Alien Burger' that included a heaping spoonful of guacamole, a big green chili, diced chilis on top of a half-pound burger cooked to order. I paired the burger with sweet potato crinkle-cut fries, that were delicious. Friendly and attentive waitresses. The patio is nestled under the shade of a large tree and it was very comfortable!

We only went to try the local brews and tried one of everything available that day via samplers. For me, the favors felt flat and nothing stood out in my mind. Beer is personal and many people enjoy this place based on the number of people eating/drinking - think I just prefer more body and stronger flavors. I was too chilly to want to sit on the patio but it looked inviting for a warm day (plenty of shade).

Stopped in after hiking in the Pecos Wilderness for a brew and snack. Our server wasn't very friendly... The beer I had was good (fulcrum IPA) but the selection was small. We just had two pretzels with their special cheese sauce. The pretzel was cold... But the cheese was great. I wouldn't come here for more than a beer or two. The service and food so far makes me glad we didn't spend a pretty penny on a full meal. If you want an even better beer and the best pretzel of your life stop by duel brewing :)

I live and work next door, but even if I didn't, I'd still be a regular. Great staff, awesome food, and you can tell by the number of their growlers I have around my home that the beer is a-ok. P.S. The best nachos in town. Also, try the chile cheese fries with red chile and sweet potato fries instead of the regular fries.

This was my first time eating there in a year or something. Wow...I cannot believe I ever thought this place was good. The IPA I had was kind of dirty tasting, like something had been done to it that I did not want to know about. My burger was a burger and the fries were fries. My waiter was kind of annoying and he never checked back to see if I needed anything. He just took my order, brought me my check and that was it. I can't believe I ever liked eating here.

This is a true locals place, the servers know me by name and are always attentive. The food is good stuff - bar food PLUS. What I love: steak salad, farmer's plate, portobella wrap, fish and chips, onion rings, bavarian pretzels, house salad (honestly you can't go wrong with the house). potato skins (but add the pork belly and I get my with jalapenos, because I'm just that way), Philly cheese steak is yummers - honestly you can't really go wrong here. The only thing I've never been that keen on is their Alien Burger special, but mostly I'm a very happy camper here. You can get more than beer, though the beer is FINE. And they never look at me funny when I want my red wine over ice, because at heart all I ever want is sangria. .

Not impressed! Got here looking to enjoy a good beer and enjoyable atmosphere. Beer is ok but staff is HORRIBLE! For a guy walking around in a beer shirt our waiter was obnoxious and unpleasant! They were having a Grateful Dead tribute band play that my Husband and I had planned on staying for until we were informed it didn't start till 6 and it was 4. With no one around I said we may pace ourselves and stay. To that we got a head shake and decided to take our money elsewhere after one beer! Heading to Santa Fe brewing company they have the goods and the better hippie vibe! The grateful dead tribute should party there!!

Went here a couple times, had the fish and chips and pulled pork chimichanga , loved the beer selection and food was good both times. They had live music one time and the place was full

This is my favorite place in Santa Fe for locally brewed beers. The food is great and the staff is attentive. The various music acts are a bonus. The beers are rotated and if you can't decide you can always sample a variety at a small cost.

Wow. First time through Santa Fe and I get slapped with this miserable place. My girlfriend and I had the highest hopes for it, but it was a pretty big failure. The service was awful. I think they had 3 waiters for about 40 tables and one food runner? It was a Saturday night. They clearly favored the people on the patio (not our little table behind the bar). When we finally managed to get our drinks (10 mins), menus (13 mins) and order food we relaxed a bit. My gf got the special, some chicken BBQ sandwich and I got the ham and cheese sandwich (safe bet right?). Nope. Chicken comes out just dunked in sauce, not real BBQ, it was right on the edge of being raw and they got the dressings wrong TWICE. Then on the ham and cheese, oh God. I don't know how you can mess it up but they did. The ham was horrible and fatty chunks. I just want to know who the chef was and if he/she would eat what they served. Worst part. Their draft beers weren't even cold. I think the only people that enjoy this place are thirsty cyclists.

Many beers to select from, about a dozen. We tried Rob's Best Bitter and the west coast style IPA (forget the exact name; they had two IPAs to choose from). We each enjoyed our selection and the other's selection. I was happy to see 3 vegetarian selections to choose from. I got the enchiladas. It was quite a bit of food; came out nice and hot (temperature wise); good in a smothered in cheese and sauce kind of way. Hubby got fish and chips; fish was hot, flaky, non oily. Again good. I like the beer more than the food. It took quite a while for the waiter to come over to us, but we were chatting with of the regulars so it wasn't that noticeable. The place was not crowded, since it was close to closing time, thus the food came out quickly. The atmosphere was a mix of a local bar and tourist.

There is a small sliver of food/beverage servers who have the humor, efficiency, and intelligence to be rude to customers and "get away with it", even get tipped. However, when the staff of an establishment consistently treats their customers in a rude, can't be bothered with you manner, and is lacking the aforementioned humor, intelligence and efficiency- well, what you get is just rude, inefficient dour .employees. The management of 2nd Street Brewery needs to have a "come to someone" moment with its staff We all have a choice of where to spend out time and money. There's really no excuse for the "attitude" and slacking repeatedly displayed by this establishments employees. They just aren't precious enough.

A good place to meet friends, and one of the few places to get food in Santa Fe after 9pm. I think their beers are always too hoppy for my taste and lack some depth of flavor. I wish they had more vegetarian food choices.

Stopped by 2nd Street @ Railyard after a day of hanging out around The Plaza. Loved this place! Quintessential brewpub with spectacular beer, good grub and great bar staff! Santa Fe and ABQ can be a little unfriendly to outsiders, but 2nd Street was incredibly welcoming. The bartenders were engaging as well as the "locals" provided some terrific conversation. I hope my son sticks around the area long enough to come back for another visit!

I don't drink beer, but the food at this well know restaurant is good and inexpensive. It can hold both large and small parties and has two outside areas, the deck for the people who are somewhat claustophobic, and the front gated area for the smokers. I ate there today and really enjoyed the buffalo wings and the hummus plate (it was a party for my sister, the Yale Graduate), but found the nachos to be a little weird... I probably won't order them again. I really liked the lemonade too, isn't that silly? Oh yea, in the late afternoon, you can sit on the patio and watch the Rail Runner cruise by and all the waving passengers. Roughly once a year they'll even have an amazing touring band, but it is very rare indeed and seems to draw a lot of the nominal local performers instead. Santa Fe is just like that.

Second Street Brewery was another of the restaurants/breweries that we researched on Yelp prior to vacationing in Santa Fe. The reviews and ratings were right on! We were very pleased with the food, the beer and the service here. My hubby had a flight of beers with the German Pilzner getting his nod for the best of the bunch. Our food choices included the Jambalaya and the Chicken Pita - both were very good. Atmosphere at Second Street was pleasant - the patio looked like a great place to spend a couple of hours on a lovely Santa Fe evening or afternoon. Service was highly attentive and helpful. A major difference from what we experienced at another brewery in Santa Fe.

Driving up to GABF by Chevy Cobalt, excited to go to the largest beer festival in THE WORLD, we decided to take on breweries and spots of interest along the way (starting point: Fullerton CA 92833). 2nd street Brewery was the 1st place we hit when we got into NM. Awesome service! -and they had great food. loved the fish & chips, and the Buffalo Burger. The fries have a seasoning on it, you either love it or hate it. The Onion Rings are Faaan-Tastic! I'm a BBQ guy - i like it on my fries, and burger, and it makes most things potato or beef taste better - but their BBQ, even tho it's their "secret recipe" - kinda weak . (tastes like sweet and sour sauce). The beer: got the sampler, and these are the one's i really liked, the Wheat Bear (Wit Bear) - best beer they serve; and it's better than Oak Creek's Wheat. The beer is pretty good; it's not award winning er nothing, but it's good to drink. We found, sitting around and eating good chile, and good food & microbrew beer - most of the fun is drinking the beer- and the comparisons come after the meal. Overall, this place is a business i could really promote. it's a great atmosphere. Smoking = a parking lot away - but that's pretty standard i soon found out. waitress was hot, and knowledgeable of the town and the hotspots.

I have to say, the venue is a great place to hear live music, but if you want great service and great food, do not go here. I've been here twice...really regretting my second visit, and unfortunately it takes forever to get any service. I understand that they have been busy both times I've gone in, but to wait as long as my table did (both times) to even get greeted, I regret that none of us will be returning. The food is mediocre...I ordered the fish and chips that came with a teeny tiny dollop of tarter sauce, not nearly enough to eat with that portion of fish...and you can forget about asking someone to get you another dollop, because they'll never check up on you. During my second visit, I ordered the Philly cheese steak which looked like dried up hamburger meat, with barely a sprinkle of cheese on top...it was so dry, I could barely eat it. :( So sad...

The Best Bitter was meh at best -- kind of watery and lacking flavor. But the stout was fanfuckingtastic! It tasted almost like an espresso, but not in an overpowering way. I dig the scene, the location, all that too. The food I could have lived without. Plain fluffy white bread with the brie? Really?

Very casual, seat yourself restaurant. The service was great as was the food. The cornish hen was well cooked and soft. Did not have any beer here, but the rest of the table enjoyed what they got as well. The place is right on the train tracks too, a very fitting location.

Not happy times at the railyard last night (Saturday). Yes, we were seated promptly. First thing we noticed, the live music was NOT what we had seen advertised in the newspaper. We specifically came to hear Bluegrass music, instead got some coffeehouse loser playing bad Bob Dylan and Seals and Crofts. Were we in the wrong place at the wrong time? Perhaps! Our waiter came over, prompt and friendly, told us they were out of one of the specials. It wasn't even 7 pm! So we proceeded to order beers...alas, they were out of one of the beers too! Waiter suggested a different beer, said it would be close to the one we wanted. It was the right color, had a little bit of foam, but I could swear we were drinking water. I was all excited about the Root Vegetable Chips since I am anti-potato. I asked him to clarify, since potatoes are, afterall, a root vegetable, but I was hoping for parsnip, rutabaga, beet, sweet potato, etc in this dish. He told me normally it was but of course tonight, it was all potatoes! C'mon people, it's a Saturday night! Be prepared! So the waiter proceeds to take our order, already I can tell we are in for trouble because he isn't writing it down. When he repeats back to us, he gets it wrong. We correct him once more thinking, by george, now he's got it. NOOOO. I ordered burger/no bun with green chile, cheddar, and carmelized onion. I got burger w/bun, no onions. It was tasty, though, but most of the cheese was stuck to the bun so he brought me a slice of cheese on a plate to make up for it. You know how cheese slices kinda dry out on the corners? Yep! Hubby ordered burger/bacon/swiss with sweet potato fries. His burger was supposed to be well done and wasn't, and his sweet potato fries came out as french fries. At this point we were tired of trying for perfection, just wanted to eat. The food was good, the service sucked, and obviously the management is unorganized.

So the complex my office is in also contains: a pizza place, an organic ice cream store and a specialty chocolate shop. Fate is sweet and yet so cruel. And across the street is this place. I went here once with my roommates. On one hand, it had a nice dim-but-not-gloomy decor. On the other, the house band sucked. Back to the first hand, mighty fine hummus! But skipping over to the other, the home-brewed beer was disappointing and sharp. So overall it is a no, even though it would be tempting some days to get drunk immediately after leaving work.

i've been to this place twice now, and i really like it...sat outdoors both times, and it was casual and comfortable with a very attentive waiter taking care of us...the beers here are well made, and very true to style (i owned a homebrew shop for years, and i know my beer)...another yelper complained that most of the beers were too hoppy for his taste; all that meant was that he ordered beer styles that he doesn't like...their maibock tastes absolutely perfect, the cream stout is on the money, the porter is wonderful as are the others i've tasted...and none of those were "too hoppy"...if you don't like hops, don't order an IPA, for god's sake!...the food was terrific: beer battered fish and chips were great...crunchy batter, not greasy at all...the fries were some of the best i've had - perfect...barbecued turkey leg was fantastic...bottom line: i like this place, i'll definitely go back and i recommend it for both the beer and the food...

Every city needs brew pub and this a good one. The food was solid brew pub fare, but a notch better, and not as greasy and beer was great. The growlers are reaonably priced and the waitstaff friendly. Try the 2nd Street burger with blue cheese- a recommendation from my dad and brother-in-law. Oh yeah, an all ages place.

Pretty good for a brewery. Very relaxed atmosphere and cool dining room. Also has a nice patio out back. Good prices on brews with sample sizes (however the selection is limited to ales with one light one resembling a lager). Food was pretty solid, I had a veggie burger which was not fresh but not bad. Fries were pretty excellent. Beef burger looked pretty good and the person who had it enjoyed it.

This place used to not be all that great, since the food was horrible and the beer was medium. Now, it's amazing. A solid locals place, the beer is absolutly amazing and the kitchen has caught up with the beer. Live music is usually damn good too, so why not stop on by.

Roughly once a year they'll even have an amazing touring band, but it is very rare indeed and seems to draw a lot of the nominal local performers instead. Santa Fe is just like that.

Alien Burger - 10 extra napkins. French fries. Beer - any and all. Bread Pudding. Be the happiest you've been in a long time! To my friend Bryan that brought us all together... You are, and always will be missed

This is my favorite place in Santa Fe for locally brewed beers. The food is great and the staff is attentive. The various music acts are a bonus. The beers are rotated and if you can't decide you can always sample a variety at a small cost.

    (5)
  • Toby W.
